The play is a story about the ancient Ukrainian word ‘Герць’, which does not exist in any other language. ‘Herts’ is a macabre cocktail of battle reconnaissance and mass suicide—shaken, not stirred. ‘Herts’ might be the most audacious way to die in human history. The play dives deep and explores the parallels between Cossack times and modern-day Ukraine.
