THE FESTIVAL
Teatri Riflessi brings on Mt. Etna international works from the contemporary scene, making it a place for discussion between artists, spectators, and performing arts professionals. The project promotes contemporary dance and theatre pieces in unconventional spaces, artist residencies, and an international competition for short live performances. Since the first edition, Teatri Riflessi has been connecting a large and heterogeneous audience with contemporary art languages.

THE COMPETITION
The International Short Performance Competition brings to Zafferana Etnea companies from all over the world to discuss with spectators, theatre and festival directors, journalists and critics from Italy and abroad. The three days host performances, discussions, networking events, and the preview of new contemporary works.

The image suggested by the theme is that of a surface: a membrane that connects contiguous spaces, a skin that covers different bodies, but also the volcanic crust that characterises an arid yet fertile environment. The aim is to foster moments of reflection that focus on interaction (between practices, voices and distinct subjects, rewritten codes and languages) and that do so with the care—and the tact—that deep listening provides.

IL PROGRAMMA
Dall’8 luglio, spettacoli di danza e teatro contemporaneo abiteranno diversi luoghi dell’Etna est portando il territorio in contatto con i linguaggi contemporanei. Un focus speciale è posto sulla giovane danza d’autore italiana, con opere selezionate dalle azioni del Network Anticorpi XL, la rete di cui IterCulture è membro e referente regionale.
